Donate in memory of Eric Pierson

Eric Andrew Pierson passed away on Monday December 4, 2023 at home in Haiku, HI. His spouse, David Rostetter, is mourning the loss of his best friend and partner while also dealing with a financial crisis. The home that he had purchased and shared with Eric needs to be sold quickly.

To help facilitate this, David's good friends Paul Mydelski, Janet Mercer and I are raising funds to make it possible for David to quickly clear items from their home to prepare it for sale. The funds will cover the cost of renting a U-Haul truck to move out cherished items and a 30 cu. ft. dumpster to remove unwanted items, as well as paying for other costs including fuel and landfill fees.

While it is emotionally difficult for David to sell their home at this time, it is necessary. The arduous process of preparing it for sale will be made much easier with your help to rent this needed equipment.

We are asking that friends and 'ohana of David and Eric contribute to support this effort. Yes, it is an unusual way to honor Eric's life, but we believe that Eric would only want the best for David's financial future.

In addition to selling their home, David also needs to find a new home for the eight large tortoises that he and Eric had raised together, and which currently live in the lush gardens surrounding their home. The tortoises are friendly and gentle; they can be adopted individually or together.
