We lost our dear brother, Emmanuel Chigozie Obi. The pain lingers and refuses to fade. Our hearts are broken and still bleeding, but God knows what is best. Only He can heal the deep wound left by his unexpected departure. He was 46 years old.

Brother Emmanuel C. Obi arrived in Montreal, Quebec, in the fall of 2023 and relocated to Calgary, Alberta, in the spring of 2024. Tragically, he passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2025, due to complications related to high blood pressure. Reports indicate that Brother Emmanuel visited the central library on April 7, 2025, to gather resources. During his visit, he complained of severe pain in the back of his head and subsequently became disoriented. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called, and he was transported to Foothills Medical Center in Calgary. The medical report revealed that he suffered a hemorrhage in a critical area of the brain, rendering him "unrevivable." He remained on life support from April 7 until April 18, when it was discontinued following consultations with his family in Nigeria. Brother Emmanuel is survived by his wife and five young children, aged 4 to 14.

We are reaching out to our community for support in covering the costs of his funeral and memorial service. Our goal is to raise over $20,000 by June 21, 2025, to cover expenses such as burial costs and to support his wife and children in attending the burial in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
