I'm reaching out to all of Ed's friends on behalf of myself and his family. Ed passed suddenly on November 21st, with his mother, sister, brothers and me by his side. We barely had time to process his aggressive metastatic cancer that was just diagnosed 2 weeks prior to his passing when we had to say goodbye to him.
If you knew Ed, you loved him. Period. He did everything right. He was the hardest working person that I've ever known and he lived for spending his summers camping with his family and friends. He burned the candle at both ends during the storm season as a Sierra Snow Fighter on the Donner Pass for Caltrans. There were times he worked 28+ days without a day off so that everyone driving this extreme pass could arrive safely home to their loved ones.
With his sudden passing we are feeling like we are floating out to sea with no boat in sight. He did not have life insurance and we will have pending medical bills as well as uncertain needs that will arise.
We are navigating a new normal as the future we all planned together isn't going to be there. He will be monumentally missed by so many. We are all better for having known him and his love for life.
We want to thank you in advance for any possible consideration and donation.
In loving memory of Edward Alvarez.
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
We love you Edward, Ed, Eddie, Eddie Bear, Eddie Confetti. Forever and ever Amen.
