Donate in memory of Daniel Tong

On the morning of Saturday, January 21st, our community suffered a profound and tragic loss. Daniel Tong (32), a quiet, yet powerfully positive force wherever he went, was taken from us suddenly in a motor vehicle accident. He was a devoted, loving husband to Melanie, and a caring and compassionate father to their two young children, Olivia (7) and Atlas (4). Patient, kind, and easy to talk to, Dan's absence leaves a palpable void that people who knew him will never be able to fill. Dan worked tirelessly to provide for his family in a career he loved. He was a true artist and master of his craft, and the loss of his passion will be deeply mourned by the culinary community.

We have set up this relief fund in honour of Dan's commitment to his family. Your donations will help alleviate the financial strain on the grieving family by providing them with essential goods and care that would otherwise be unobtainable. We thank you for your love and unwavering support. Anything and everything helps during this tragic time.

Words cannot express how truly grateful we are for the outpouring of support over these last few days. You have truly shown how many people Dan's life touched, and it means the world to Melanie to know just how much he was loved.

As the generosity of the community has far surpassed what we could have imagined, the funds will be put into a trust held by Melanie's mom Beth Lessard. We feel that this is the best way to ensure the funds are available for Melanie and the kids during these difficult times and to help establish security for them in the coming months.
