On Tuesday, June 14th, Svetlana found her 20-year-old son’s body behind their house in Port Charlotte, Florida; this was after Daniel had already been missing for two days. The details of his death are yet to be investigated by Florida Police. As you can imagine, this is an incredibly traumatic and devastating experience for Svetlana and Daniel’s family, myself included. I’m Daniel’s aunt and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Svetlana and her family.

 

Daniel was a son of immigrants, his father had been deported years back when Daniel was just 8, and Svetlana had been left to care for her two sons on her own. Although they were already struggling, Daniel’s untimely and tragic death has put even more financial pressure on their family.

 

Daniel was an ambitious young man with so much potential. He was a talented boxer. He enjoyed surfing and skating with his friends and loved his family very much. Last year Daniel repented in an Evangelical Christian Church when he was visiting his father in Kiev. Danny enjoyed reading Bible verses together with his grandma, on the phone. He dreamed of buying a car and driving to California to visit his
89-year-old grandma Antonina. Daniel was the youngest in our family.
