Curtis James Koch, born February 5th 1960, in Sandusky, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 17th 2025 in Naples, Florida.
He graduated from Miami University and Capital University Law School. He was an accomplished attorney, practicing in Norwalk and Sandusky for 40 years and was closely involved with the Ohio Bar Association and the Ohio Public Defender’s Office. He served as the president of the board of the Albert G. & Olive H. Schlink Foundation. Under his guidance, the foundation grew and gave back to the community more than it ever had before.
His athletic pursuits encompassed running, cycling, and swimming, culminating in a Half Iron Man race completed in 2012, as well as skiing and sailing. Some of his most beloved traveling destinations included the Outer Banks, the Cayman Islands, and the Italian countryside. He loved reading the great classics of historical literature and watching his favorite sports teams, the Browns, the Guardians, and the Buckeyes.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet “Bitty” Koch, his two children, Michael Koch and J Cranston, two children-in-law, Meghan Murray Koch and Saryn Cranston, and his three brothers, Mark, Matthew, and Brian Koch.
His Celebration of Life will be an intimate gathering of family and close, personal friends occurring this Sunday.
