On November 16th, our beautiful mother, Cecilia Mickey, passed away, surrounded by her five children. In her honor, we wish to celebrate her life and all the kindness she bestowed selflessly throughout her life. We are creating a memorial fund to honor two of her favorite things: her career in nursing and her congregation.
- We are creating a memorial scholarship for a graduate of East Windsor High School (EWHS) who is pursuing a career in nursing. Cecy served as head nurse for over 20 years in the EW school system, as well as working at Hartford Hospital, for the Ambulance Association, the Visiting Nurse and Health Services, and volunteering for Hospice Care. While at EWHS, she adored her students, and strived to be a confidant, a support system, and heal all that she could. She would love to help anyone who was following in her footsteps.
- We are creating a donation to support accessibility improvements to her beloved church, St Patrick-St Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Hartford, CT. Cecy loved her church and the vibrant congregation there with all her heart, but due to her disability, she required every type of accessibility available for her to attend.
She often spoke of how much these two things brought to her life, and it is our hope that we can pass these blessings as a tribute to her, to others. Please give what you can. We will update progress on both of these memorial funds and are confident that her generosity and memory will live on in this way.
