Support the Family of Brooke Hassell in her Memory
Donation protected
Loss of a loved one is never easy and grieving is a process that is difficult, yet necessary.
Brooke had a hemorrhagic stroke in September last year that caused severe damage to her brain. She underwent surgery and her loved ones have hoped and prayed for recovery. Despite glimpses of what seemed like very small signs of responsiveness, Brooke had not improved.
Among many loving family and friends, Brooke has her dedicated husband, Garrett, father to their teenage daughter and son, Payson and Austin. They have endured the most unimaginably challenging and long 14 months of having mom in full hospital care, physically here but unable to communicate with her or know if she has any awareness and what she may be thinking or feeling. They have had the exhilaration of some hopeful moments only to be met with the need to find strength to accept disappointment with no true improvement.
They recently met the challenge no person wants to ever face, tasked with making a decision to respect the wishes Brooke had expressed when she was able to. Prior to her stroke, she had indicated she believed her life would be short and would never want to be kept on any kind of life support.
Garrett, Payson and Austin have an indescribably strong faith and a bond with one another that has only grown stronger through these challenges. In a way, they had to lose Brooke unexpectedly last year. But this November, with the support of Hospice, they have enabled Brooke to move on and allow for some closure for themselves. As they set wife and mother, Brooke, free to join her mother and brothers and many other loved ones in heaven, it would help them greatly to relieve any service expenses that lie ahead to both properly grieve their loss and celebrate Brooke’s life & reunion with loved ones in heaven.
Brooke has many living family members she leaves behind until they reunite again one day. They were all so incredibly grateful for previous funds that assisted with early medical expenses until assistance with long-term care came through.
Any donations at this time are so greatly appreciated to help this family to be able to simply surround one another in a comforting embrace of love as they let Brooke go.
