On Friday December 1st my family received a call informing us that my sister Amber Coleman was in the ICU with an infection that had gone septic. After making multiple phone calls trying and failing to find out more information my family and I decided to make the trip to Missouri to be with her and see what was going on. We arrived to find out that her condition had worsened and within hours most of her organs began shutting down and she was no longer a candidate for surgery that was necessary in saving her life. She was on life support with little to no hope from the doctors. On Sunday December 3rd she ended her journey on this earth leaving behind her sweet one year old little girl. By Sunday evening the little one was in the custody of my parents with nothing other than the clothes on her back.
For those of you who know my family, more specifically my parents, you know them to be very private. They are the kind of people to give the shirt off their backs to someone in need without ever expecting anything in return and never asking for help from others. Not only did they lose a daughter, but they also became new parents to a one-year-old overnight. With funeral expenses, taking time off work without knowing when they both can return to full time, and making sure the little one has everything she needs I know it has been a lot for them to take on. Although they may not ask, I know they could use all the help they could get as this has been a huge shock for everyone.
I understand that with the holidays just around the corner it may not be feasible for everyone to donate, but we wanted to provide those who have asked with the opportunity to do so. For those of you who would like to donate other items such as diapers, clothes, or toys please feel free to reach out. Even if it isn’t possible for you to donate anything at this time my family could use all the prayers we could get. Thank you all for taking the time to read this, hold your loved ones close and Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
