In Loving Memory of Robinson Okumu
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Robinson Okumu, who sadly left us in Italy whilst competing for England. On his journey to sprint in the Olympics.
At only 15 he was asked to asked to run for South West England in Belgium. After breaking the year 10 100m record with a time of 11.27 seconds. He then went on to break school, county, and national records.
Robinson was a kind, warm, and generous soul who touched the lives of many. His passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
As his family navigate this incredibly difficult time, we are raising funds to help cover the urgent and significant costs involved in bringing Robinson back home. His mother has had to fly to Italy to make the necessary arrangements, and we are seeking your support to help cover the following expenses:
• Repatriation of Robinson’s body from Italy to the UK
• Funeral and church service in the UK
• Final journey to Africa, where Robinson will be laid to rest with his ancestors
The estimated cost to bring him home to the UK is around £5,000, not including funeral expenses, and the later journey back to Africa.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in easing the financial burden on his grieving family.
Your kindness, prayers, and support during this time mean the world to us. Please share this page widely, and thank you in advance for standing with the family of Robinson Okumu during this heartbreaking time.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
