My name is Ivan Garcia and I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping cover my wife’s medical expenses.

A few months ago, my wife began experiencing pain in her lower back, radiating down to her toes. After weeks of uncertainty and multiple misdiagnoses, we received the news we feared most: cancer. She has been diagnosed with metastatic melanoma.

This isn’t her first battle. In 2023, she was treated for Stage 3 melanoma on her right foot, which was surgically removed. We were hopeful it was behind us—but tragically, it returned and spread aggressively to her lymph nodes, bones, lungs, liver, and other organs.

She is incredibly strong and continues to fight every day. She’s a devoted wife, a loving mother to our two children, a sister, and a daughter. Her journey has included several rounds of radiation and immunotherapy, but unfortunately, the treatments were not effective.

Recently, her oncologist discovered that the cancer has a specific mutation known as BRAF V600, which causes the cells to grow and spread uncontrollably. Because of this, her treatment was changed from immunotherapy to targeted chemotherapy pills designed specifically to fight this mutation.

These specialized medications offer hope—but they come at a staggering cost: almost $12,000 per month even after insurance. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t manage this alone.
