11 NEWBORN KITTENS. ONE MAMA. AN URGENT NEED FOR HELP.

No matter how many satos and gatos we rescue, find loving homes for, or transport to our partner shelters, the heartbreaking reality remains the same: twice as many abandoned cats continue to arrive at our doorstep.

Our latest case is another painful reminder of the growing crisis across our island. A mama cat and her 11 newborn kittens have been abandoned and are now counting on us for the care, protection, and love they desperately need. ❤️

We know the situation across our island is heartbreaking and increasingly overwhelming. But we cannot turn our backs on these innocent lives.

This little family needs our help.

Mama Cat needs:

Food and proper nutrition

Veterinary examinations and medical care

Medication and parasite prevention, as needed

Spaying once she is medically ready

Her 11 babies will need:

Kitten food and proper nutrition as they grow

Veterinary wellness exams

FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, as age-appropriate

Deworming and parasite prevention

Warm, clean bedding and a safe environment

Spaying and neutering when they are old enough

Caring for a rescued kitten can cost between $600 and $3,300 during the first year, depending on their medical and care needs. Now imagine the resources required to care for 11 kittens and their mama — on top of the nearly 500 cats already in our shelter who depend on us every single day.

The numbers are overwhelming, but every life matters. Every full food bowl, every veterinary visit, every medication, and every safe place to sleep makes a difference.
