We are raising funds to help purchase high-quality breeds of goats to empower women in rural Burkina Faso. With your support, we can provide a sustainable means for these women to improve their lives and their families' well-being through livestock ownership.
The Plan: We will purchase a select breed of goats known for their strong genetics and high productivity. These goats will be kept on a farm to allow them to mate. Once the goats are pregnant, they will be donated to women in our community as part of our women empowerment program. This approach gives women a steady source of income, milk, and potential livestock trade, creating a ripple effect of economic independence and community upliftment.
Why Goats? Goats are an essential part of sustainable agriculture in Burkina Faso. They are resilient, require minimal resources, and can provide a valuable source of nutrition through milk and meat. More importantly, owning livestock empowers women by giving them assets that they can leverage for financial stability.
Our Goal: We aim to raise funds to purchase 450 goats and provide the necessary care for them. Each pregnant goat will be given to a woman in need, ensuring that she receives a goat that will soon give birth to a baby goat. This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the livelihoods of rural women and promote food security in Burkina Faso.
