Donate Funds for LaFleur Family Home Health Aides

We unfortunately need to place Cara into a nursing facility, while Jeff undergoes radiation and chemo. This will be a permanent placement, as her care needs surpass what can be provided at home. This is unfortunately a rapid process, and our three beloved home health aides will lose a large portion of their income. We are raising funds to cover as much of a severance for them as we can manage.

The home health agency does not provide PTO, so they will receive nothing from the agency. All of these women work multiple jobs, have families at home, and have taken care of Cara as if she were their own family. Cara, who's dementia-based behavioral challenges combined with her aphasia make her a difficult person to manage, loves all three of them very much. Any contribution is deeply appreciated.

Maria- Has been with us the longest. She raised her family right in Croton. Her calm, loving demeanor and consistency with our mom is unmatched. She quickly surpassed Amy to become Cara's favorite person to follow around the house, and who can blame her?!

Adeneika- Has been with us for many years as well. She has made it her business to care not only for Cara, but also for Jeff. She recognizes the amount of work that he puts into being a caregiver, by cooking huge, delicious Jamaican meals for them, and going well above her job description everyday.

Natasha- Is the newest aide, but her scheduling flexibility has made a world of difference in Cara's care. She is always willing to cover a shift, or work late so Jeff can attend events with his children. She has a daughter with medically complex needs herself, and manages to show up each day.
