Hello Friends and Family,

We are the Pesce family, and we are now a family of four! Along with our son Oliver, we were blessed with our daughter Wren, born February 23rd! Just like our son, Wren was born at 37 weeks. Right off the bat, she needed some oxygen to get this new life started and was soon in the arms of her mother.

However, our happy story would soon turn. No more than 12 hours later, on the morning of the 24th, our nurse noticed she wasn't breathing the way she was supposed to and took her to monitor in the nursery. We soon learned our baby girl wasn't getting the oxygen she needed; she was struggling.

Fast forward through the day, it was best for our little girl to be flown out to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where we knew she was gonna get the best care possible. Our sweet girl had a rough go when we first got here, and she ended up intubated. Yesterday, the 25th, was rough with tests and some complications, but she is a fighter. There wasn't much of a concern for a cardiac-related incident, but we figured getting an Echo done to rule out the cause was more than appropriate. The Echo of her heart looked great! We are so relieved for no cardiac issues and that this is all just her lungs needing some help. Last night she did amazing! We are repeating a dose of medications for her lungs today and hoping the breathing tube will come out tomorrow!
