On Saturday, August 30th, our beloved mother, who just recently celebrated her 79th birthday, suffered chest tightness and numbness in her left arm while spending time with her daughter and grandkids. She was rushed to Bellevue Medical Center, where, after undergoing an angioplasty procedure, doctors discovered a 99% blockage in her left main artery and 70% in her right two arteries. Due to the location of the blockages, implanting stents was not a medical option to clear the blockage, and a triple bypass was determined to be the best course of action. She's undergoing surgery today, 9/9/2025 (I'm actually still receiving updates as I write this and planning our next steps). After a challenging journey this last week, she will soon be stable at University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) ICU, where she will continue to receive critical care and further diagnosis of the artery used from her leg as well as her heart. Then rehabilitation starts.
This sudden health crisis has been overwhelming for us children and for our families out of state. As we navigate this difficult time, I know a lot of you have asked how you can come together to show love and support. Your generous contributions will help ease the financial burden of meals, recovery costs, and other expenses for travel and wages lost to her kids for her rehab appointments. My family would be so grateful for the support so we can focus on her healing.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Please consider sharing this page to spread the word. Together, we can lift up this amazing woman during this challenging chapter in her life. Thank you for your kindness and support!
If you cannot donate, please pray for her recovery and healing. This will be a long road ahead for her and her family. I want to thank everyone right now before I forget. I'll keep everyone posted here with any updates.
All our love - The Fairleys
