Update on Dennis' health:
We have been to see the surgeon at UAB and will have another ECHO completed in mid October to compare to the one he had at the beginning of July. Those results will go to the surgeon at UAB, Dr. Eudaily. Once he compares them, he will contact us via video/computer and let us know our next steps... heart is strong enough for surgery or continued with meds to strengthen the heart or transplant. in the meantime we still have bills and no disability check coming in, we truly hate asking for help, but we just have no other course. We have minimized bills and eliminated others items. Words cannot express our sincere appreciation and kindness you have all shown us. We continue to ask for prayers and even if you can just pass this along.
I'm Tammy and I am trying to raise funds for my husband’s medical bills, as well as daily medicines and bills. I really do hate to beg, but desperate times have hit us hard now.
At the end of May Dennis went to the doctor for a simple sinus infection. He was given antibiotics and steroids, doctor checked him out, but then 6 days later he began to experience shortness of breath. Trying to get back in to see the doctor again, he was put off and decided to go on to the ER. Turned out to be the best decision! He was told he was in congestive heart failure! Talk about a shock~ Never a pain, symptom, nothing! He was admitted to the hospital for a week, daily meds were changed and now he has 3 new doctors to see on a regular basis. Co-pay's and new medicines add up quickly, not to mention the hospital and testing bills that have begun to pour in - unpaid!
Because of his shortness of breath; even after losing 43 lbs in fluid from around his heart, it has left him very weak and unable to work. He had to shut down his barber shop (sole owner) after working for 38 years and has no money coming in (even though he has put in for disability). He is a very proud man and has starting to become depressed due to the inability to work (having less than 10% of a functioning heart - has currently been added to the transplant list (hope to come off with medicines SOON) and having no income to speak of now. We would be eternally grateful and blessed by anyone willing and able to help.
God bless! ♥
