“Back in 2015, a deposit started to form in a major organ in me. As it was a minor illness and a common one, I never paid much attention. However, I did as the doctors directed me to. I underwent the required treatment and surpassed the ordeal. A similar situation came up in 2019. Thinking it was just a minor inconvenience like the previous one, I revisited the doctor. This time, it returned. Not just as the same, treatable common condition, but with the intention of possibly taking me away from my family.” Says Srinivasa, a 41-year-old family man.
I restarted life afresh…
After recovering from the ailment in 2015, I was even more enthusiastic to start my life afresh. I resumed my work as a ‘rickshawala’ (auto-rickshaw driver). I was once again making my way through the paths of life. I started every day by dropping my daughter off at school and bringing home some vegetables for the day. After which, I would pick up and drop people from one place to another. Life was passing, one day at a time. We had moved on from the shock that my ailment brought.
After recovering from an illness in 2015, I eagerly returned to work as an auto-rickshaw driver, navigating daily routines of dropping my daughter at school and buying groceries. Life was moving forward, and we had overcome the shock of my illness. Soon after, my wife Varalakshmi shared the joyous news of her pregnancy with our second child. Motivated to provide for our growing family, I worked tirelessly, leaving home earlier and returning later each day. Our happiness knew no bounds when our baby boy was born, completing our family.
However, in 2019, my health took a drastic turn when I began experiencing urinary difficulties. Worried, we sought treatment at Medicover Hospital, where we received devastating news: my kidneys had completely failed. Doctors recommended a costly weekly procedure to purify my blood, which initially showed promise. Despite my efforts as the sole earner, our financial resources were insufficient, and my condition deteriorated.
Now, I urgently need surgery to replace my failing organ and regain my health. The cost is substantial, beyond what we can manage alone. Your support is crucial to give me another chance at life and reunite our family.
