Support Samantha Burnell's Cancer Battle

Hello! So many friends have asked how to help our sweet friend, Samantha "Sam" Burnell and her family, during her battle with a rare aggressive skin cancer, nodular melanoma, that started in her left leg. She was diagnosed over 6 months ago, after noticing a few nodules which required surgical intervention to remove and began immunotherapy treatments. During the course of her treatments, she was unfortunately notified by her employer that she had been laid off AND also that the cancer had spread further up the leg.

The medical team acted swiftly, scheduling immediate imaging including PET scan, MRI, etc. and was sent back in for surgery again to remove the new nodules; however, this time she experienced post-operative complications with excessive bleeding from the surgical site. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance requiring an additional procedure to stop the bleeding and try and salvage the skin graft from her upper thigh. She has since returned home and is recovering; however, the next step is chemotherapy treatments in Tampa, FL at Moffitt Cancer Center, where they specialize in limb therapy.

The medical bills are piling up and the length of treatment is uncertain. As Sam continues to fight through these difficult times, we want to alleviate some of the financial burden on her family so they can focus on her recovery and well being.
