My name is Melinda and I met Sabine through dog rescues. She has been rescuing dogs for years and recently cancer has paralyzed her. She would love for a mobile IV team to come give her high dose Vitamin C treatments; however, they are expensive! I would like to raise a few thousand dollars so she can have them a few times a week. She wrote a little bit about herself.
From Sabine,
Animals were always my thing. As a kid, I tried to aid birds that were injured by cats. If they were dead, I buried them and made them a little grave. I did an internship at a no-kill shelter in Germany, where we rescued dogs from Romania, Portugal, Spain, etc., from high-kill shelters. Later, I always rescued animals by myself. Got them vaccinated, spayed, neutered, and found them homes. I spayed and neutered cats that showed up at my house and released them after they were healed. I got involved with rescues after I moved to AZ and was fostering e-listers from MCACC for them. I wanted to start my own rescue but got involved with people that had other priorities than me. So, I ended up with 30 dogs dumped on me by the last rescue I was working with. We got 11 adopted but still need to find homes for 16 adoptable dogs. I got diagnosed in 2019 with breast cancer and got radiation treatment and was put on hormonal treatment. This worked for a few years. The pills stopped working, and cancer came back and spread to the spine. I had surgery to put a bridge in to connect vertebrae that were still intact and to get tumors removed from the spinal cord, which paralyzed me.
