Whether it is through the grin that is always on his face or his caring personality, we have all been positively affected by our good friend Russ. He is always there to help when others need him, but now we all have the opportunity to return the favor. On October 29th, Russ had an extreme medical emergency and was found at home unconscious by a close friend. The doctors believe he was unconscious for around 48 hours before being found and is very lucky. He spent the next 6 days in the ICU and has a long road to recovery ahead. The assistance of a Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD) is highly recommended and would be trained to identify and alert Russ to variations in his blood glucose level which would prevent future incidents. The cost of obtaining this highly trained canine partner through Diabetic Alert Dogs of America is $19,500, and that’s where you come in. Let’s all link arms around our friend Russ and help with this new challenge.
