Unfortunately 10 months ago, he was diagnosed with Diabetes and to say the least, it’s been A LOT TO HANDLE! We are very responsible dog parents so we even got Pet Insurance years prior to his diagnosis. We survived the 1st calendar year maxing out our $10K limits. However, two days ago he started to struggle digesting his food and vomiting. We had to take him in and he’s going on his 2nd overnight ICU stay with concerns over DKA, IBD, Cushing’s disease — all causing him to not be able to digest his food. Drs have now put him on a 24/7 intravenous slow drip for insulin, and he is still not eating but they are hopeful a biopsy could help remove whatever is in his stomach and they are optimistic he can have some quality of life left.

The only tough thing is we have now maxed out our Insurance with more unknowns to come. To top everything off, Ariana was affected by the mass layoffs at NASA JPL this week—causing even more stress to our financial situation.

We are in a tough position, with not a lot of time to act prior to making an even more difficult decision as we do not want him to suffer.

We want to give this amazing son of ours EVERY OUNCE OF EFFORT WE CAN GIVE HIM!!! He’s a fighter—and has been such a good boy during the past 10 months with us giving two insulin shots a day, providing 24 hour care for Rocky, sacrificing our lives to make sure his is the best and longest life he can live! Projections of this ongoing treatment can be anywhere from up $50,000 the next few months. WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP TO PLEASE DONATE TO HELP OUR BOY!!! ANY DONATION WE WOULD BE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL!
