Donate for Reem and her children

Hello. My name is Katla Thorhildardottir, and I live in Limerick City, Ireland. My cousin in Iceland introduced me to Reem Shehada, a mother of two small children, currently living in horrible conditions in Khan Younis in Gaza.

I volunteered to start a fundraiser for Reem and her family, to raise funds for them to afford food, medicine, and other necessities.

The following is a message from Reem:

Hello everyone - I am finally writing my story to publish here on my page. Translated with a friends help -

My name is Reem Shehada, I am a 30 year old Gazan mother. I have 2 beautiful children, Zain and Wateen.

Wateen was born in August 2023, just a few months before the Gaza genocide started. Her whole live has been lived through war, displacement and fear.

Before October 2023, my family and I did our best to have a good life. My husbands family and mine are from Gaza, and lived a stable life in Rafah, despite living through all the previous bombardments by the occupation.

In November 2023, our house was bombed and completely destroyed, and our displacement journey started.

My husbands sisters and their families live in the North, and so he decided to leave us to go and escort his sisters in their evacuation to the south. His sisters got here without my husband and told us they had never seen him - he had been disappeared.

He was kidnapped by the occupation forces for 5 months and suffered brutal torture and was very injured upon being released. During this time I had no idea where he was all while trying to survive out on the streets with my children. My husband is now back with us and suffered many physical issues due to his torture and needs medications.

Since our house was destroyed, we have been displaced over 10+ times and fear for our lives every day. I am in a tent with my family. My parents are close by and are old and very sick. I have half siblings who live with my mother. My husband has two sisters and their families. I Am the only one able to bring in any help through your donations; it is very important and I am so thankful to anyone who supports us.
