Help Save Phoebe and Jack's Health

Phoebe (10) and Jack (3) are English Yellow Labs (a.k.a. our fur babies). They are incredibly loved and cared for by my husband, and two daughters. We’ve always kept up with their wellness visits, vaccinations, and anything needing immediate attention. To us, they are not just ‘pets’, they are family members.
We’ve been going through financial hardship for over a year now due to many circumstances out of our control. Now at its worst yet, we’re hardly making ends meet and Phoebe’s health is at stake. We’re not able to pay for her veterinary care, even at a low-cost clinic.
Phoebe has had allergies since a young pup having to take costly medications to keep it at bay. Allergy testing had presented food sensitivities, so we’ve eliminated them since.
In May of last year, Phoebe had a severe skin reaction to an unknown source causing open sores on most of her body. Our veterinarian had her put under anesthesia to shave the areas so they could be treated and biopsied. She was then on antibiotics and steroids, to stop progression. Pain-killers kept her comfortable enough, especially while I had to keep everything clean so pain would not be an issue. She is such a sweet girl - she let me help her every day without snipping or growling at me.
Our veterinarian spent ample time with Phoebe during our follow-up appointments to keep her calm and help us decipher the cause, but we couldn’t figure it out. After 2 months of medication, keeping those areas clean, medicated shampoo baths, and follow-up visits to the Vet she had cleared up and was back to health.
Over a year later, Sunday 8/25 her right inner ear was very red and irritated. On Monday it looked very concerning. We would have gotten her to our vet ASAP, but we can’t cover the cost of the visit alone, never mind the potential medication. I tried to just keep it clean, but on Tuesday, it was in really bad shape (shown in the picture). On Wednesday, a large sore the size of a baseball broke out on the left side of her face . It is very bad, especially since we can see it under her fur. This is just like what she had last time on the same side of her face. I have pictures of her face now, as well as her last outbreak, but I’m not sure about posting those pictures because of how graphic they are.
Given our experience with this, we know how bad it could get, as well as how costly it will be to get her treated. We are certain other sores are there that we can’t yet see under her fur. We are doing our best to keep the sore and her ear dry because getting it wet could spread it even quicker. If we don’t get her treated now, she’ll likely get infections and we could lose her.
We had success getting her back to health before, so we know we can get her through this again but only with adequate treatment. We have made an appointment for her on Tues. 9/3 when they can do the procedure in hopes that by then we will have enough funds to cover it, and the ongoing medications that will follow.
Alongside Phoebe’s care needs, Jack is well overdue for his vaccination updates and wellness check-up. This is all very costly as well, but again, we don’t have the means to cover it. We are worried about him not having these updates as it could result in illness for him.
We NEVER ask for help with finances (and we’ve gone through our fair share of challenges over the years), but this has been the hardest time for us by far, so we are pulling for our fur-babies.
ANY amount helps. I’ve seen small donations add up fast following causes that I’ve contributed to in the past, which is why I am putting this out there for your help.
Anything will be gratefully appreciated and we will provide updates on Phoebe and Jack as we keep moving ahead.
Much love,
the Mobergs.
