My sister Paige was admitted into Huntsville Hospital on August 3, 2025 For blood clots on the left side of her head. Since being admitted it has been a rollercoaster of a ride. She has had to have 5 surgeries so far with another coming in the future to remove a cyst inside of her ear that surrounds her ear drum. She had to have a 7 inch blood clot removed from the side of her head. Which led to another surgery to remove infection that was keeping her vein collapsed and causing no blood flow. It was discovered that she also has meningitis on top of everything else. She will be getting to come home soon with home health and 24 hours care. My sister has 2 children aged 9 and 4 that she cares for by herself but due to everything happening she has been put off work for at least a year to continue receiving IV antibiotics and other medications at home to help clear everything up. It is by the grace of God my sister is still here with us today. She has held a small Jesus figurine in her hand from the very start and kept her faith strong in the Lord. I am trying to help ease some of the burdens of utilities and dr bills or anything they may need until my sister can get back on her feet again. She has had several Drs appointments over the last 6 months since she has been home. She got the PICC line removed and we thought everything was going great. On 2/25/26 she got news that none us of ever thought would happen and that none of us wanted to hear. She has several 6mm nodulars all over her lungs that the dr thinks is cancer due to her jugular vein still being collapsed and the clot still being present even after having the first one removed. Her levels are over 500,000 normal is 200,000. The infection that was behind her ear has spread to parts of her brain they are unsure how bad it has spread. She has to see 7 different Drs at UAB to get on the right track of getting everything started. This has been a lot on Paige trying to figure out how she is going to get to and from her appointments in Birmingham. She is trying to get her disability started but as most know that takes a long time. She is looking at possibly having to have stents put in on the left side of her brain to try and open everything back up. But that is the least of the worries now with the nodulars being found on her lungs. Per Drs orders She is unable to go back to work due to all of this and she has started passing out and the Drs don't understand why. The Drs have said she could have a stroke and it could end very badly. She is at risk of producing clots in other places and if that happens the Dr said it would be to late. This is the start of a very long and hard journey and she has endured so much already and kept her head held high because it is all God's plan and just another hill she is climbing.
