We are raising money to support Nurse, his family, and his business following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. The area is currently without water, electricity, cell phone service, and WiFi connectivity. Nurse is an internationally recognized sign painter, whose work has been featured on album covers, books and in galleries.

My name is Max Glazer and I have been working with Nurse both locally in Negril, and internationally for many years. All funds will be transferred to our business account, MG Tropical and I will personally deliver to Nurse. I’m based in Brooklyn, New York but am in Negril 6-8 times a year. I am in daily communication with Nurse and his daughter Shannon as they work to rebuild their business and their community.

As you may have heard, power has been restored to parts of Negril - mainly on the beach and West End Road, however the Bus Park, where the sign shop is located, and Nurse’s community of Whitehall are both still without power. With your generous support, we have been able to get Nurse a generator, as you can see in the video update below. Nurse and Shannon have also been providing meals for the community from their home (2nd video). All of the money raised here is going directly to Nurse to help support his family and their community.

It will be a long road back to full recovery, but with your help, things are getting better every day.
