On behalf of my father, Nou, I am setting up this GoFundMe to help raise funds for travel, medical, and personal expenses.

Over the past two weeks that Nou has been hospitalized, many of our family members and his children have traveled out of town multiple times to visit him and support our mother through this difficult time. Our mother has also taken several days off work, and we’re doing our best to make up for the income she’s lost.

Unfortunately, we’ve recently encountered a potential issue with my father’s life insurance policy. In the event that he passes, we may face challenges covering the costs of giving him the proper funeral he deserves. We continue to pray that it won’t come to that, and if Nou recovers, any funds raised will be used to provide him with the best possible care while he remains in the hospital.

Nou has battled kidney disease since the early 2000s and underwent dialysis for many years before finally receiving a kidney transplant in late 2018. In early October, he began experiencing severe pain and extreme fatigue, leading to several ER and ICU visits at SRHC. He is now receiving care at a hospital in Kansas City for an abdominal infection. His liver is failing, and his transplanted kidney is also struggling. Doctors are evaluating him for a potential liver transplant, though his overall health history makes this a complex decision.

Now that he’s being treated in Kansas City, the travel costs for our mother to visit him have become a growing burden. We are asking for any support you can provide—whether through a donation or through your prayers—for our father.
