My son, Nikolas, recently had surgery for a tumor in his head.
We weren't aware of its existence because medical care in my home country isn't as good as it is in this country. Doctors there are very expensive, and we would never have known about it.
We are a family who recently arrived in this country to work and start a new life, to get ahead for our children. However, we were faced with this situation: the child woke up with severe headaches until he finally had a seizure. He was taken to the hospital. Thankfully, it was in this great country where he had surgery, but unfortunately, he now needs follow-up care and rehabilitation, and we don't have the budget to continue treating him.
For this reason, I'm opening this account.
Also because we haven't been able to begin the asylum process and urgently need to start that process now so the child can begin his therapies. In my home country, he wouldn't have the same care he receives here. We ask you from the bottom of our hearts to help us.
Nikolas is a cheerful, easy-going 13-year-old boy who has adapted very well to this country. He enjoys school and studying.
Thank you in advance on behalf of Nikolas and his mother, Norma.
