Hello friends, my name is Erika. I am reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit as I raise funds for the care of my 87-year-old mother. She is living with vascular dementia and stange 3 kidney failure. While I am her primary caregiver, my husband and sons step in to help whenever they can. Still, the weight of caring for her, especially at night, has become more than I can manage alone while also working.
My deepest wish is to give my mom the dignity, safety, and comfort she deserves in these years. She needs a nightly home health aide, assistance with medical costs and home care physicians daily. Sadly, she doesn’t qualify for Medicaid. I’ve been fighting to get her approved since before both of my brothers passed away during COVID, when we all shared the responsibility of her care. Now that rests solely on me. The state of Michigan denied her Medicaid because she was just 3 dollars over the income limit. Because of that, she receives only two hours of aide care per week and no help with other much needed supplies…far from what she truly needs.
I am humbly asking for your support. God bless you.
