I know that now is a difficult time for everyone, so trust me when I say that I've exhausted all options before deciding to start a GoFundMe.
As many of you know, my best friend, Atif Muhammad, and his family were victims of gun violence when his wife and 15-year-old son were murdered. It's still too tender to talk about, but you can read it here.
Despite this, Atif's daughter, Faulkner Na'ila Muhammad, graduated from high school and is now in college.
They have cracked piggy banks, gotten scholarships, sold nuts (literally), and are still a few thousand short of this year's tuition. Atif didn't ask me to do this; in fact, the conversation we had was about stress and how difficult it is for him during this time. What many don't know is that the man accused of killing his wife and son goes on trial very soon, and Na'ila's tuition is due July 28. I told him that I would get the money together, and I am.
See, that's where you come in. I'm asking for anything as nothing is too small. And if you can't give money, then I welcome prayers, because life is hard and it's harder when dealing with a tragedy like this.
Na'ila is a sweet young lady who is growing into her own; please let's not let money keep her from her dreams.
Thank you for reading and God bless you.
