Hello, so we normally wouldn't ask for money like this, but our 8 month old cat Mr. Man recently ate dental floss and needed emergency surgery to survive. Between the enterotomy and all the diagnostics the total cost for this came out to be $6,466, which is an extremely challenging amount to pay for my mom and I as two working class people. We decided to move forward with the surgery, however we had to take out the price of the surgery $5,302 on a short term loan, due in six months. We would appreciate any contributions in helping us pay this, as this will significantly affect our quality of life for the next six months.

Here is the backstory:

One night, Mr. Man began to vomit all night long, and was acting very lethargic and not himself. We took him to an emergency vet in the morning and they told us it was likely a virus without doing more expensive diagnostics. We decided to monitor him over the following night, and his lethargy / refusal to eat or drink persisted. The next morning we took him to a veterinary hospital for a follow up, and through diagnostics we learned he had string wrapped around the base of his tongue into his intestines and needed an emergency enterotomy. They couldn't do it there unfortunately, so we took him back to the emergency vet for the enterotomy. The surgery went well, and Mr. Man is recovering now. He is feeling much better, though he hates wearing the cone.

The overall cost breakdown for this was:

*Initial emergency vet visit: $429

*Vet hospital diagnostics: $735

*Emergency enterotomy: $5,302

Total Cost: $6,466

It was an impossible choice to decide to either enter significant debt or put down your 8 month old kitten, and we're very grateful that we made the decision to save him and that he is safe now. We do not expect to pay for this fully through this campaign, but we appreciate any support from friends and family. Our goal is $3,000.
