There were unforeseen costs to add the air purifier to the downstairs unit., so I have adjusted the goal accordingly. This goal is simply to cover the extra parts and labor to cover the install. Don't feel obligated to donate if you already have, but we would still like to spread the word. Thank you again for all that you have done!
==============
We have close friends that we consider family and their 4 year old has been going through treatment for Leukemia for the past year. He is now in maintenance mode, but he is still highly susceptible to infections. We are requesting funds to help pay for a whole home purification device that we believe will help his health and ability to interact more normally with his friends and family.
We have a family friend in the HVAC industry and he has a device that gets installed in the main HVAC blower that treats the air and removes bacteria and viruses. We have had this in our home for the past 2 years and have noticed a significant reduction in spreading sickness between family members. For example over the past 6 months, my wife had both the flu and COVID and none of the rest of us got it. So I have faith that this solution would be an ideal way to help protect Milo from getting sick when his family and friends come over to visit.

From their original posting:
On November 16, 2023, Milo was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We were shocked and devastated to get this news and to know that our sweet 3.5 year old baby boy would have to suffer through this. We were immediately sent to Duke and he started his treatment right away. We are in the very beginning stages of treatment and are taking one day, one hour at a time. We have been blessed with an enormous amount of love and support through this most difficult time.
Here is their most recent update from 8/4/2024:
Milo was able to get his treatment today, YAY! This officially began his Maintenance Phase of treatment. The oncologist was very excited for us and encouraged us to get him back into more “normal” activities that he’s been missing out on the last 8 plus months. Although this is not the end of the road (we have 1.5 years to go) we are still excited for a less intense phase and more “social” next year for Milo AND us! Milo will be taking 2 different oral chemo medications at home so the docs will be trying to find his “sweet spot” for his dosing and where his “counts” do best. If he gets a fever we still have to take him to the Emergency Room and follow that protocol. However, less intense treatment will mean he won’t be quite as immunocompromised as he has been. He’s obviously still going to be more vulnerable than the average “healthy” kid so it will be a balance we will have to learn. He will be the most vulnerable for up to 2 weeks after his IV Chemo and Spinal tap so we will have to tailor our activities to that. My husband and I are so happy for our little social butterfly who has been wanting to play with all his friends again. While this last almost 9 months has felt like an eternity, we also can’t believe it’s gone so fast. Our Mighty Milo has been such an inspiration
