I made this gofundme to help Mei Mei with her urgent medical care. She was finally approved for her brain surgery, but unfortunately she had an unexpected loss of medical coverage, which will prevent her from getting this surgery. For those following her story, you know that this surgery is a necessity. She has dural cranial venous stenosis on both sides of her brain that causes intercranial hypertension. Which basically means that the veins that lead to her brain on both sides are narrow, which restricts the flow of fluid and there is a big increase of CSF pressure in her skull. Her doctor explains that it is like a 6-lane highway with only 1 lane open. This causes extreme pain, pressure headaches, brain fog , cognitive impairments including memory issues and difficulty communicating ( slurred speech, difficulty processing information), nausea and visual impacts ( blurred vision & vision loss- that will become permanent). Over this whole year she has worked with her doctors but all other medical treatments have not been successful, and her symptoms are progressively getting worse. So doctors have deemed surgery as necessary as this condition is incredibly debilitating to her everyday life. The surgery will provide a stent that will open up the vein stenosis and alleviate the intercranial hypertension. This surgery will greatly impact her life and health, but the sudden loss of coverage puts her at risk of not getting this surgery that she needs. The hospital offers a private membership/ insurance that she can be enrolled in immediately if funds are raised, this will allow her to still get the surgery as planned.

All of the funds raised will go directly to Mei Mei covering the cost of her medical care as well as essential bills during her recovery. It will cover thecost of the hospitals private insurance premium , pre and post surgery medicines, surgery cost ( bills for the operation & hospital stay), post surgery care such as follow up appointments, test and scans

As most of you know this past year has been very challenging for her. She has been through so much this past year. It has been such a struggle , mentally, physically and emotionally. There were times that she wanted to quit and give up, She has continued to trust God. Despite uncertainty, but God guided her into safety. With everything over these past several months, God's plan is working in the background and He has brought her a great support system to remind her to not give up and to help her in times like this.
