We are devastated and heartbroken to share that our beloved Matthew Somera has tragically passed away in a street bike motorcycle accident on July 21, 2025.
There are no words to express the grief we have for our 21-year-old, with so much life ahead of him. Matthew was the brightest and most positive guy you could meet. He was your friend immediately and always made life fun. He was ready to live his life to the fullest every minute. He woke up early, ready to work hard, and he wanted to stay up late to play harder! For Matthew, it didn't matter how hard life was or how difficult the challenges he was facing were; he powered
through it with the most positive energy and attitude.
Matthew was an entrepreneur at heart and a very driven person who showed up for everyone, inspired us all, and was YOUR friend you could count on.
He was a passionate and wickedly talented motocross rider who raced from a very young age. He was most happy playing in the dirt and having grease all over him. From working on bicycles and skating at Duncan Creek Skate Park, working on boats at Lake Lanier, fixing motorcycles, or working as a local auto mechanic, grease was his partner in crime.
He loved going to ride his dirt bike at Durhamtown Off Road Resort, a motorsport park in Union City, GA, and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
He enjoyed sleeping in a hammock at Lake Lanier and waking up to the most beautiful serenity of perfect scenery.
He will be deeply missed by all of us, his family, friends, skate park family, and moto family, work family, bike and car meet friends.
We humbly ask for your prayers for his family during this most difficult time. If you are able, any monetary contribution would be a profound blessing.
These funds will be used to directly cover his celebration of life, end-of-life expenses, and provide the needed support to his family as they navigate their grief. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
