Donate for Malana Hansen's Healing Journey

I am writing this with a heavy heart about my daughter, Malana Hansen. Malana is 41 years old with a son who is 20 and a fiancé. Malana was admitted to UNMC on April 3rd with stage four liver failure. We believe this was caused by a very sick gallbladder. Malana had surgery on April 4th to open up her bile ducts, and two stents were added at the time, as well as biopsies on her pancreas and bile ducts. At this time, the biopsies came back benign. Everything was too sick for them to take her gallbladder. Malana then got a bad case of pancreatitis. CT scans were coming back showing a mass on her pancreas, and another biopsy was done on May 7th. The results of this biopsy came back showing adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. We will hear the plans of action tomorrow and can hopefully get things moving quickly.

Update: Malana had a specialized CT scan to stage her cancer. We now wait until this Wednesday to get the results. A team of specialized doctors will be having a meeting on Wednesday to discuss what the plan of action will be. Thank you all so much who have donated and for those of you praying. UPDATE: Malana got her staging results back and she is stage 1B with her pancreatic cancer. This is the best stage we could get! She will undergo chemotherapy and infusions for 6 months and then will have a Whipple surgery done. Please continue to keep her in your prayers and thank you all so much for donating.
