As some of yall only know that my baby, London Beth Jones has a disability and others know that she was diagnosed with a rare syndrome called Wiedemann–Steiner syndrome that is a genetic disorder that causes developmental delay, unusual facial features, short stature, and reduction in muscle tone. The syndrome was originally discovered in 1989. The genetic basis for the syndrome was identified in 2012. These are the only things that we know about the syndrome. We go with the flow as we go from specialist to specialist learning more and more in getting her healthy. We were out of Cook Childrens for almost 3 years, she has been a healthy girl then she started doing this head drop, that brought us back to Cooks to make sure she wasn’t having seizures and out of no where they stopped! Thank the Lord!! But neurology sent us to a rehabilitation doctor who did X-rays of her body and many other tests getting us reastablished back with a bunch of new doctors. Number one finding being hip dysplasia also known as developmental dysplasia of the hip. It is a congenital defect that affects the hip joint's ball and socket. The socket, or acetabulum, is too shallow to support the femoral head, causing misalignment and instability. This can lead to a gradual dislocation of the hip, cartilage wear, and early-onset osteoarthritis. With that being said we are having double hip surgery March 20th. A 5 hour surgery, which is not going to be an easy healing process and mommy won’t be able to work. If you could help us out and bless us we would be so thankful!!!
