Neofibromatosis 2 is a genetic condition that creates tumors on nerve endings. My son has tumors on both audio nerves, right optic nerve, brain sheath and a paralyzed vocal cord. As of now, the only treatment is surgery which will rob my son of all his senses. My son has no use of his left eye because surgery severed the optic nerve. Last year, he had a tumor removed from his brain sheath. The paralyzed vocal cord interferes with my son's swallowing breathing and talking.
