The Laurel Police Department is pleased to announce that we are beginning the transition of our current K9, Grimm, into a well-earned retirement after nearly 10 years of honorable service. Grimm has been an invaluable asset to our officers and the Laurel community, and we are grateful for his dedication and commitment.

As we look toward the future of our K9 program, the department is currently in the process of acquiring two new K9s to continue providing essential support to our officers and the citizens we serve.

To make this transition possible, we are now accepting donations to the Laurel Police Department K9 Fund in an effort to reach our fundraising goal of $80,000.00. In addition to community support, the department has also applied for grant funding through the National Police Dog Foundation and the AKC Adopt-A-K9 Cop to assist with program costs.

• All contributions are tax-deductible and will directly support:

• Initial purchase of the new K9s

• Food and veterinary care

• Vehicle and equipment needs

• Proper housing for the life of each K9
