Please help save Kyle and Other Children with Neuroblastoma!

We are starting a fundraising campaign for Kyle Page (my 4 Y/O son, born on 6th May 2016 in Nuneaton, West Midlands, UK) and Neuroblastoma Charity UK (https://www.neuroblastoma.org.uk/ )

On the 12th of August 2020 Kyle was diagnosed with stage 4 'Neuroblastoma'; a very rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer that affects only 100 children each year in the UK.

It's a date we'll never forget....

We met with Prof Bruce Morland and his team who confirmed that Kyle had 2 large tumors about 7cm in diameter (tennis ball sizes). One in his lower back encroaching into his spinal column. The other was in his chest behind his lungs, near his heart, pushing his main arteries and organs aside. It had also spread to his bone marrow and would be present in the skeleton and elsewhere due to the nature of Neuroblastoma.

Due to the location of the spinal tumor treatment had to start immediately. If not the tumor would cause paralysis and very unlikely be treatable.

Stage 4 is very difficult to treat, has a high chance of returning and a 50% mortality rate. This news was devastating BUT there is hope!

Stage 4 Neuroblastoma requires at least 18 months of intense, invasive and very painful treatment. This involves an intensive 3 month chemo plan with chemo every 10 days (usually every 21). Leaving him none of the usual recovery time required between sessions increasing risk, suffering and complications dramatically.

Followed by surgery, followed by 2 months of Very High Intensity chemo (where he will be in hospital permanently due to health and risks). Followed by radiotherapy, bone marrow/stem cell replacement and immunology treatment. Let alone all the constant tests and procedures; lumber and bone tests, biopsies, central line surgery and replacements, daily injections, loads of oral medication, plus all the illness, suffering and complications treatment brings.

One of the worst things you don't even consider is the severity and amount of long term side affects of the intensive treatment. The worst of these being loss of hearing, heart disease, lung disease, mobility and hand motor functions.

He is the strongest boy I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is tough and resilient, and has a will to fight and live. I hope you will help us and other families affected by Neuroblastoma by following our story and supporting us with fundraising for him and the UK charity.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between Kyle and the Charity Neruoblastoma UK, who has been hit very hard by the Covid implications and is urgent need of donations to survive and continue doing the amazing work they do for these families.

We trust he will beat this and is already responding well to and holding up like a trooper to the painful treatment

Note: If you do not want to pay a tip to gofundme.com, then do not forget to change the drop box (see below photo) to "Other" and then the amount to "0". Gofundme.com will take a small fee when I send the final donation amount to the family so no need to add extra unless you personally want to.
