URGENT: Help Our Friend and Her Baby, Kootie

Yesterday was heartbreaking. After a long day at the vet, sweet Kootie was sent home with pain medications and a devastating diagnosis. The only recommendation? To keep her comfortable. Today, things took a turn for the worse. After waking up and going potty, Kootie was suddenly writhing in pain—screaming, panting, trembling. What we feared might be genetic bone deformities may actually be something even more severe.

Kootie needs to go back to the vet immediately. She needs specialized care. She’s suffering, and time is not on our side.

Her mom—our dear friend behind Saving Riverside Shelter Dogs—has devoted her life to saving countless innocent dogs from euthanasia. The sleepless nights, the endless rescue calls, the tears cried for so many—she never stops. But now, her own baby needs us.
