Kari Sherman Bundick is a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was an outstanding gymnast and much loved gymnastics coach. Kari set up a highly successful pre-school program at a Gymnastics Academy in Odessa, FL near Tampa. On July 1st, Kari suffered a massive stroke leaving her paralyzed on her left side with severe neurological deficiency. Thus far, her treatment has been intense, extensive, and heartbreaking. As a result of the stroke, she underwent a decompressive hemi-craniotomy (partial skull removal), tracheostomy for breathing, and peg tube placement in order to receive nutrition. She is currently hospitalized in Virginia undergoing extensive medical treatment. Amputation of her left lower leg is a strong possibility. Kari's family hopes to transfer her to a facility in Florida where she would be close to her family who love her and would be there continually to care for her. She will require supervised medical transport, long-term care, and rehabilitation. Kari will probably be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. She is facing substantial medical expenses given the severity of her condition. Unfortunately, Kari has very limited resources. The GO FUND ME would help cover current and future medical expenses, medical transport to Florida, and help establish her long-term facility care. Please help Kari by donating to her GO FUND ME account. Kari’s family is so thankful for the prayers and words of support they have already received.
With love,
On Behalf of Kari’s family
