This past week has been quite a wild ride for Karen and her foster mom (who also happens to be one of my best friends). Mental health doesn’t discriminate and unfortunately, the owner of the rescue where Karen was being fostered through, was found to be hoarding animals (both alive and deceased) and living in deplorable conditions. Dozens of cats, dogs, and reptiles were found dead or near death. While the owner of the rescue is getting the help they need, this also means that the rescue has been shut down effective immediately. Today, Karen’s eye popped out of her eye socket requiring an emergency vet visit. With the rescue being shut down, instead of the rescue paying for Karen’s vet bills, it’s fallen on my friend Catie to pay for Karen’s e-vet visit and ongoing care. I started this GoFundMe because, like me, Catie works for the government helping people. Needless to say, I’m not friends with her for the money. She’s fostered dozens and dozens of dogs and has such a big heart for helping people AND animals. A donation in any amount would be so helpful to pay for Karen’s emergency vet visit today and her follow-up care. She’ll need the sutures removed in a few weeks and they’ll assess her eyesight at that time. Hopefully she’ll be good as new! Thank you in advance for helping Karen!
