Hi, I'm Julia, my mother Judy is having an emergency hip replacement due to the hip popping in and out of socket and grinding bone against bone. We are attempting to go through FMLA & other disability sources but they are wanting to deny her due to our living situation.
As of 01/05/2026, at 1545 my mother has went through her surgery, and is recovering well. Her big worry is still on the income that Matrix is withholding from her. She is focused on this instead of her recovery, which is not what I would like for her.
Her job has ensured her that they will make sure she is able to come back, but she has taken off two months worth of recovery due to a possible heart condition anesthesia was worried about. Matrix has held everything she was supposed to get and her job and the HR at the job are trying their hardest as well as her and I to get her some income so we don't go without food or access to things we need.
She is recovering well, the pressure of bone-on-bone grinding in her hip is immediately relieved, she is walking better than she has in almost 3 years.
Her surgical and nursing team has been a big help and with my previous knowledge of caregiving for things like this it helps ease her mind a bit.
Anything to help would be amazing and appreciated, I will be doing the most I can by working and taking care of her during this time. I will post more updates as this continues!
