"Recovery is about progression, not perfection."
Josh York was in New Jersey to start his life fresh and battle his addiction. In a message with a loved one on November 17th he said, "Life for me right now looks like rebuilding and repairing my life and maintaining stability long term. I've been struggling with substance use since I was 18, and it's caused a lot of pain/chaos in mine and my loved ones lives. For years I tried to relocate and outrun my problems but it never worked, it's only in the past year really that I've tried to face my past and show up for life. I'm looking to build myself back up, get stronger/healthier."
To know Josh is to know his heart of gold, his kindness and devotion to those he loves. To know his selflessness, is to be drawn to him. He means the world to his family and thus we were all devastated to hear of his recent relapse that is costing him dearly.
They say the most dangerous time for an addict is when they are truly, genuinely committed to recovering. This is because as the drugs and alcohol leave their system any subsequent relapse will hit them harder than they could imagine.
Josh is currently in the hospital battling for his life. The family is asking for donations to help cover his medical expenses and the travel expenses for his mother and brother to be by his side. Thank you for the consideration and donations to his care.
