Hi, my name is Jose Gomez and I am humbly asking for help to assist my mother in obtaining the appropriate medical care and assistance she needs during this time.

My mother recently had to have a chest tube placed to remove fluid from her right lung. She has been in and out of the hospital over the last 30 days and is very sick and weak. She currently needs supplemental oxygen for home use and 24/7 assistance.

We have been working around the clock to care for my mom while in the hospital and at her house. She has an oxygen concentrator machine at home that, at this time, is not strong enough for the amount of oxygen she currently needs.

These hospital stays and her condition have made mom too weak to the point that, for the times she gets discharged home, she is unable to walk, stand, and needs help with sponge baths, bed mobility, etc. Although my family rotates around the clock to help, we find ourselves needing a second person to help us move her safely due to how weak she has become.

With humility, I kindly ask if anyone is able to help us with covering the cost for her hospital stay and procedure, a more effective oxygen concentrator machine, and to hire caregivers to help us with moving my mom, help bathing, etc. We would deeply appreciate it.

At this time, my mom is currently still in the hospital getting the fluid drained out of her lung by the chest tube. We are preparing for when she gets discharged to have these things in place for her. As I am writing this, I think about how my mom has been a fighter all her life. She is a breast cancer survivor. She was told in her 40s she only had 6 months to live due to her cancer, and she overcame that!

She has heart problems and has been overcoming that. She fell approximately 2 years ago and fractured her foot. Since then, she hasn't been able to walk without assistance. She's always been a fighter, and as I write this message, I think about how she is currently struggling with her health conditions and now needs more help. We would like to be able to give her the support she needs.
