Our 22-year-old son, Jaylon Brady, was diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), a chronic autoimmune condition. He has stage 3 HS, the most severe form, which significantly impacts his physical and mental well-being. On April 8th, my husband, Maverick, and I accompanied Jaylon to a consultation with Dr. Abigail Chaffin, a renowned surgeon at Tulane University in Louisiana, who specializes in the complex surgery Jaylon requires. Prior to consulting with Dr. Chaffin, Jaylon had seen two surgeons in Atlanta who deemed his case too challenging to treat. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on May 19th. Following this initial surgery, Jaylon will require two additional, more intricate surgical procedures. Due to the high-risk nature of the procedures, meticulous post-operative care is crucial to prevent infection and ensure a smooth recovery. My husband and I felt immense relief after our consultation with Dr. Chaffin, knowing that God had sent a skilled surgeon who could help our son. Having these surgeries will greatly improve Jaylon’s ability to live a normal life.
