Jangull Amiri is a former Afghan Special Forces commando who served alongside the U.S. military for more than a decade. During a combat mission in the early 2000s, he was shot by Taliban fighters, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
In 2021, Jangull and his family were evacuated from Afghanistan during the U.S. withdrawal. After months in refugee camps, they were resettled in Northern Virginia, where they received limited government support that quickly ran out. With a serious disability, a language barrier and three young children, Jangull was faced with incredible challenges.
With the help of Global Shout , Jangull had access to medical care, housing and education — but ongoing funding has dried up, thanks to political changes in the U.S. that have impacted nonprofits nationwide.
Now, Jangull is determined to take on a new mission and earn a living for his family by driving for Uber, Lyft and other delivery services. To do this, he needs one thing: a wheelchair-accessible van.
This van will provide more than just transportation — it will allow Jangull to support his family, regain independence and contribute to his community.
Please consider donating to help Jangull make the living he needs to support his family — every contribution brings him closer to achieving his goals of autonomy and self-sufficiency.
