***7/28/24 Update...our original goal has been met in less than a week! We cannot thank you enough for everyone's kindness and generosity-it has been amazing. We all have been truly overwhelmed by it all. We are hoping to increase the goal to help with all of their home renovations that will be needed to make Hans' transition back there easier. He is determined to be as independent as possible and your help with this will be key to helping make this happen.
My name is Andrea and I, along with my family, are hoping to help raise funds for my Uncle Hans Kurtzman. He was involved in a car accident on March 11, 2024 which resulted in a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the chest down. He spent the first 3 months in Memphis recovering from various health scares and surgeries and has spent the last month at Shepherd's Center of Atlanta receiving the very best rehabilitation for his injuries. He has made so much progress and has learned so many things to help in his day to day life; especially when he is able to return home. This is where your help comes in! Before he can go home, modifications have to be made to their home to accommodate him and his wheelchair. This includes a wheelchair accessible van for him to get around in.
Hans has spent his life in service to the US Navy, Delta Airlines, FedEx, and the TN Air National Guard where he recently retired as Master Sergeant.
I do not have the right words to explain how dedicated and determined my Uncle Hans is along with my Aunt Nancy (she has not left his side). They have not wavered in this battle and have shown so much love, gratefulness, and thankfulness through it all. Please help us make his return to their home as easy as possible. They deserve this and so much more.
Your contributions will go toward a wheelchair accessible van. Thank you all so much for your help! Our family is truly grateful!
