My name is Carlye, and I’m fundraising for my incredible mom, Geneva, who is preparing for a complete thyroidectomy.

For over a decade, my mom has battled hyperthyroidism. She’s faced fatigue, weight changes, and countless doctor visits with strength and patience. Recently, after a series of tests and concerning symptoms, we received heartbreaking news: A high possibility of thyroid cancer. Although we have been waiting weeks for her biopsy results, both her endocrinologist and surgeon have mentioned that they are positive it is cancerous.

Her doctors have recommended surgery to completely remove her thyroid, followed by specialized treatment and long-term care. While we’re hopeful and staying positive, the medical expenses, recovery costs, and time off work are overwhelming.

The out-of-pocket cost for the surgery, hospital care, and follow-up treatments is estimated to be $15,000 (or more depending on several factors).
