Fundraiser for Essential Wheelchair Van

Donation protected
My mom, Martha Robbins, is in need of a wheelchair van to get to medical appointments. Here's her story.

In 2012, she was diagnosed with a staph infection in her spine that destroyed four vertebrae. Three surgeries over about a two-week period to put in rods and cages were required to stabilize her spine, followed by almost four months of rehab. In 2015, she broke her right hip, requiring a total hip replacement. In 2019, the lower rods in her back failed, crushing some vertebrae, allowing bone fragments to enter the spinal cord, resulting in permanent spinal cord injury and a fourth back surgery to replace the rods. She has not been able to walk or stand since. For several years, she used a transfer board to get from one surface to another and in and out of the car. On New Year’s Eve, 2024, she fell off the board getting out of the car for an appointment and broke her left hip, which she still had some movement and use, but not anymore. Traveling by car is no longer an option.

At 78 years old and on a limited income, she cannot afford to buy a wheelchair van, the only way to get to medical appointments. Any help in reaching our goal is deeply appreciated.
